LKQ Europe is deploying Whatfix software across LKQ Academy, the training platform used by about 70,000 registered users in 13 countries.

LKQ Academy provides digital learning for vehicle repair professionals, including mechanics, workshop owners and automotive technicians. It offers hundreds of e-learning courses, instructor-led training at 15 training centres, and industry-recognised certifications.

LKQ Europe is moving its existing learning provision to a new centralised learning management system, supported by Whatfix's Digital Adoption Platform and Product Analytics. The software is designed to help users find relevant training, navigate the system and complete key tasks.

The analytics tool will also show where learners encounter difficulties, giving the academy team data on friction points in the system. That information is expected to support ongoing improvements to the learning experience.

LKQ Europe is one of the region's largest distributors of automotive aftermarket parts, with more than 900 branches and more than 26,500 employees. Through LKQ Academy, it trains professionals who need to keep pace with changes in vehicle technology in an increasingly software-driven market.

Training shift

The move reflects a wider push by automotive groups to update how technical training is delivered as repair work changes. Workshops increasingly need to work with newer vehicle systems, while distributors and training providers are under pressure to make education easier to access across multiple markets.

LKQ Academy's scale gives the project broad reach. Its user base spans 13 European countries, and the platform serves both external customers and internal teams.

Whatfix said its in-application guidance will sit within the learning system, directing users to the right content and helping them complete tasks on the platform. LKQ Europe also plans to expand its use of the software over time to support additional training programmes, platform communications and more personalised learning.

Vara Kumar, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Whatfix, linked the agreement to broader changes in workplace software and training.

"As AI and software reshape every industry, organizations need learning experiences that are embedded directly into work, personalized to every user, and continuously optimized through real-time insights. That's the shift we're enabling with LKQ Europe," said Kumar.

For LKQ Academy, the project is focused on making a large digital education operation easier to navigate as the platform is consolidated. The training business supports workshops and technicians that rely on up-to-date knowledge to service and repair an evolving vehicle parc.

Jason Conway, European Product Manager, Training Platforms, LKQ Academy, said the digital learning service is part of a broader investment in customer support and skills development.

"Automotive professionals are expected to master technologies that are evolving faster than ever before. Success depends on making learning as accessible and intuitive as the work itself. LKQ Academy is a strategic investment in the future of our customers, and with Whatfix we're creating a digital learning experience that empowers every user to learn with confidence while enabling us to continuously improve that experience over time," said Conway.
