SPOR Group and its Co-Founder, Chris Gore, have been named finalists in the AV Awards 2026, with nominations in two separate categories.

Gore is a finalist for AV Professional of the Year, while SPOR Group is shortlisted for Integrator of the Year. The recognition reflects the company's work in workplace technology for organisations in the UK and Europe.

Based in Maidenhead, SPOR Group focuses on audiovisual and workplace technology and supports more than 1,500 meeting rooms across the UK and Europe.

The shortlist highlights both the company and its leadership at a time when employers continue to invest in meeting room and workplace systems. SPOR Group says its work centres on improving reliability and user experience in those environments.

Gore co-founded the business after a career in the military. According to SPOR Group, that background has shaped its emphasis on accountability and on ensuring systems continue to work after installation.

Alongside his role at SPOR Group, Gore hosts the Future Workplace podcast and has written Work Isn't Working, a book about workplace technology strategy and business outcomes.

The AV Awards are a recognised fixture in the audiovisual sector, covering companies, projects and individuals across the industry. A place on the finalist list is often seen by suppliers and integrators as a sign of standing among peers in a competitive market.

For SPOR Group, the dual recognition comes as workplace technology providers seek to distinguish themselves through service and system performance rather than installation alone. Businesses buying audiovisual systems have faced pressure to make hybrid and office-based meetings run more consistently, particularly across larger estates.

SPOR Group says this remains one of the main challenges facing modern workplaces, where meeting failures and inconsistent room technology can disrupt day-to-day operations. It describes its role as helping organisations keep those systems dependable when staff need them.

This approach has become more prominent as companies manage networks of meeting spaces across multiple locations. In that context, providers are increasingly judged not only on project delivery but also on whether technology performs reliably over time.

Commenting on the recognition, Gore said: "It's a real honour to be named a finalist for AV Professional of the Year, alongside seeing SPOR Group recognised as a finalist for Integrator of the Year. These awards are a reflection of the wider SPOR team and the work we do with our customers every day. We're passionate about changing the way organisations think about workplace technology and making sure it delivers the reliability, performance and experience that people actually need. To be recognised in two categories alongside so many talented people and organisations across the AV industry is something we're incredibly proud of. We're looking forward to the awards and celebrating with the wider industry later this year."
