Group-IB has been named a Representative Vendor in the 2026 Gartner Market Guide for Cybersecurity Incident Response Retainer Services, placing it among providers tracked in the market for round-the-clock incident response support.

The guide describes cybersecurity incident response retainer services as a mix of proactive and reactive work sold on a retainer basis, including investigation, containment and eradication, with some providers also covering recovery. Pre-incident work can include maturity assessments, tabletop exercises and penetration testing.

Group-IB said its retainer offering covers the full incident response cycle, from investigation and containment to eradication and recovery. Clients can also use prepaid hours for preparation work such as red teaming, staff training and readiness exercises, as well as live incident support.

Retainer model

As a differentiator in a crowded cybersecurity services market, the company highlighted its operational track record: more than 1,600 cybercrime investigations across more than 60 countries and 11 Digital Crime Resistance Centres worldwide.

Those centres are intended to support customers across different jurisdictions and operating environments. Group-IB said its local presence helps align services with client locations and regulatory requirements.

Incident response retainers have become a growing part of the cybersecurity services market as organisations seek guaranteed access to specialist teams before a breach occurs. The model typically gives customers pre-agreed service levels and short-notice access to response staff, while allowing them to use part of the contract for preparedness work during quieter periods.

Response support

Group-IB said its approach combines threat intelligence with investigative, forensic, malware analysis and threat-hunting capabilities. According to the company, this reduces the time needed at the start of an engagement by giving response teams relevant intelligence before work begins.

Headquartered in Singapore, Group-IB serves customers across government, financial services, retail, healthcare, gaming and other sectors. It also works with international law enforcement bodies, including INTERPOL, Europol and AFRIPOL, on cybercrime matters.

Cybersecurity buyers have increasingly favoured retainer arrangements as attacks become more disruptive and response skills remain difficult to secure at short notice. Contracts that combine emergency response with testing, simulations and assessments can also help spread security spending across immediate and preventive work.

Market visibility

Inclusion in a Gartner market guide can raise visibility among corporate and public sector buyers evaluating suppliers in a specific segment. Such reports generally outline market structure, define key services and identify a selection of active companies.

Dmitry Volkov, Chief Executive Officer, Group-IB, commented on the recognition and the company's approach to incident response.

"Being recognised by Gartner in this market guide reflects what our clients already know: when Group-IB arrives on an incident, we do not start from zero. We arrive with intelligence. Every investigation we have conducted across financial services, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, and government feeds directly into how we respond to the next one. That accumulated knowledge is what transforms a retainer from a contract into a genuine operational advantage," said Dmitry Volkov, Chief Executive Officer, Group-IB.
