Tata Consultancy Services and Jaguar TCS Racing have renewed their title partnership in a multi-year deal, with TCS also becoming the team's Official AI Partner.

The renewal extends a five-year relationship and follows Jaguar TCS Racing's 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E Teams' World Championship win. The team recorded four victories and 10 podiums during the season.

The expanded partnership will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in racing operations and engineering, while also informing work on future Jaguar electric vehicles. It will continue into Formula E's GEN4 era.

Over the past five years, the two sides have worked on cloud and digital twin systems designed to improve race performance and transfer lessons from motorsport to road cars. Central to that effort is TCS's Virtual Vehicle Validation Model, known as V3M, which allows Jaguar TCS Racing engineers to test software changes, run simulations and make decisions under tight time constraints.

The renewal also reflects the broader relationship between TCS and JLR, which has lasted for more than a decade. TCS works with more than 200 UK brands and recently announced plans to create 5,000 jobs in the UK over the next three years.

Track Record

Jaguar TCS Racing has been one of Formula E's strongest teams in recent seasons. According to the companies, it won the teams' title in 2024 and again in 2026, and recorded more wins and podiums than any other team in the GEN3 Evo era.

Jaguar returned to top-level electric racing in 2016 as the first luxury carmaker to join Formula E. Since then, the team has amassed more than 20 race wins and more than 60 podiums, while using the series as a test bed for electric drivetrain development.

Formula E allows manufacturers to develop their own powertrains while using standardised chassis and battery components. The structure is intended to contain costs while leaving room for development in areas that could influence the efficiency and range of future road-going electric vehicles.

The latest deal highlights how carmakers and technology groups are increasingly using motorsport partnerships to trial software, data analysis and simulation tools in a live competitive setting. In Formula E, where energy management and race strategy are central, such systems have become a key part of team operations.

Abhinav Kumar, Global Chief Marketing Officer, TCS, said: "This partnership demonstrates what is possible when world-class teams come together with a shared ambition to innovate. At the close of a great season, culminating in the Teams' World Championship, we are pleased to extend our partnership and build on that momentum as Formula E enters the GEN4 era. With this renewal, we will further harness AI and advanced technologies to unlock new performance opportunities to help Jaguar TCS Racing compete for more podiums and championship wins."

For JLR Motorsport, the tie-up forms part of a broader push to connect racing development with its road car business. Jaguar has previously described Formula E as a key part of its electric vehicle strategy because it gives engineers a competitive setting in which to test systems and gather data.

Chris Thorp, Chairman of JLR Motorsport, which operates Jaguar TCS Racing, said: "Our partnership with TCS has been instrumental in helping Jaguar TCS Racing push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and innovation. As the Championship enters the GEN4 era, this collaboration helps us drive the future of all-electric motorsport while informing the next generation of Jaguar cars. Extending our partnership with TCS is grounded in proven delivery, shared values, and a clear vision for how data and AI can elevate motorsport performance."

Education Programme

The partnership has also included an education element. Through TCS's Ignite My Future initiative, nearly 30,000 students in 16 countries have used racing-related lesson plans and team content to study applications of data, design and strategy since 2023, according to the company.

Hundreds of students have also taken part in trackside experiences with the team at Formula E events around the world. The programme is intended to encourage interest in engineering, data science and sustainability.

Jaguar TCS Racing enters the GEN4 period as the reigning teams' champion, with António Félix da Costa set to remain for the 2026/27 season alongside a second driver yet to be announced. The team continues to be led by Team Principal Ian James.

As an official manufacturer entry, Jaguar develops its own motor generator unit, transmission, inverter and rear suspension. It will also supply its powertrain to Paysafe Envision Formula E Team and Fortescue Zero Racing for the GEN4 era.

TCS generated more than USD $30 billion in consolidated revenue in the financial year to March 31, 2026, while expanding its sports sponsorships beyond motorsport to endurance running events. In Formula E, the latest agreement gives it a more direct role in the technical side of a championship where software and data have become as significant as speed on track.
