Climb has become an official distributor for HPE Networking in Ireland, expanding an existing relationship between the two companies.

The appointment means Climb will distribute the full HPE networking portfolio in Ireland, extending a role it already held for HPE Aruba Networking products. The broader remit follows HPE's acquisition of Juniper Networks and the integration of Juniper's channel programme into HPE's partner structure.

For resellers and other channel partners in Ireland, the change creates a single distribution route for a broader range of networking products under the HPE brand. Partners will be able to access the combined portfolio through one distributor with local market experience.

The expansion reflects a broader reshaping of the networking market after HPE absorbed Juniper's business and channel operations. Distributors, resellers and service providers have had to adapt to a more unified supplier structure, particularly in markets where relationships were previously split across separate product lines.

Climb has a longstanding relationship with HPE and had already built a presence around Aruba networking in Ireland. This latest step extends that work across the rest of HPE Networking, including products added through the Juniper deal.

Climb has been investing in networking expertise, partner support and market development in Ireland. The aim is to help channel partners build practices around the expanded HPE networking portfolio as vendors increasingly connect network infrastructure, security products and AI-related workloads.

Brian Davis, VP of Sales UKI at Climb, described the move as an extension of the company's history in the market.

“Today is a significant milestone for Climb as we mark the next evolution of a networking heritage that spans from Aruba to HPE Aruba Networking and now HPE Juniper Networking. This is a pivotal moment as we bring our partners into a single HPE Networking practice that combines the strength of the HPE portfolio under one coordinated model. This creates new opportunities for partners to grow faster, expand into adjacent networking markets and better support customers as networking, security and AI continue to converge. For many years Climb have helped partners develop successful networking businesses in Ireland, and this expansion allows us to bring that same expertise, investment and support to partners looking to capitalise on the opportunities created by HPE's combined networking portfolio,” Davis said.

The development is notable in Ireland because distributors play a central role in how many technology vendors reach smaller resellers, managed service providers and systems integrators. A broader distribution agreement can influence which products partners prioritise, how they bundle services and which vendor accreditations they pursue.

Channel shift

As HPE folds Juniper into its wider networking strategy, distributors with an established foothold in local partner communities are likely to play a bigger role in smoothing the transition. In practical terms, that can include helping partners understand product overlap, navigate revised commercial terms and build sales pipelines across a portfolio that was previously split between separate vendor organisations.

The expanded arrangement is intended to simplify engagement for partners working across the combined HPE networking range. For Climb, the agreement also strengthens its position in one of the more strategically important areas of enterprise technology, where networking remains closely tied to data centre spending, cybersecurity requirements and cloud infrastructure decisions.

HPE framed the move as a way to widen access to its networking products through an established local partner. Neil Dover, Country Sales Leader for Ireland at HPE, said: “Climb has been a trusted HPE partner for many years, helping partners across Ireland grow their networking business and deliver great outcomes for customers. This expanded relationship gives partners easier access to HPE's networking portfolio through a distributor with strong expertise and local market knowledge, helping them grow their business and support their customers' changing needs.”

Climb is part of Climb Global Solutions, a listed technology distribution group focused on specialist areas including security, artificial intelligence, data management, connectivity, storage, cloud and software. The HPE Networking appointment deepens the company's role in infrastructure distribution in Ireland through a vendor relationship it has held for years.
