8BitDo has begun shipping its Ultimate 3E Controller for Xbox across the UK and Europe, with distributor Game Outlet Europe announcing the launch.
The officially licensed controller is compatible with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and also supports Windows. Bluetooth support allows use with Apple and Android mobile devices.
It is priced at GBP £124.99 and EUR €139.99, and is available through major European retailers and online storefronts.
The Ultimate 3E supports both 2.4GHz wireless and wired connections. The wired option is aimed at players who want a fixed connection for tournament play, while wireless mode extends support to PC and mobile gaming.
Modular design
A key feature of the controller is its swappable hardware. The package includes interchangeable ABXY modules, thumbsticks and D-pads, allowing users to change the layout and feel without buying separate accessories.
Players can choose between silicone or micro-switch ABXY modules for two different button responses in the same device. The controller also includes two D-pad options, one standard and one circular, alongside a selection of thumbsticks: two tall, one thick-neck and one dome.
8BitDo has also revised the controller's shape, introducing a wider grip angle and silicone side grips to improve handling during long sessions.
Technical features
The Ultimate 3E includes TMR technology in its dual thumbsticks and a 12-bit ADC sampling chip, intended to improve precision and stability.
Interactive RGB rings around the thumbsticks provide visual feedback during play. The controller also features Hall-effect impulse triggers with two trigger stops, additional fast bumpers labelled L4 and R4, and two remappable rear buttons.
For PC users, the controller supports a polling rate of up to 1000Hz. It also includes customisable 6-axis motion control when used in 2.4GHz mode on PC.
Settings are managed through 8BitDo Ultimate Software X, where users can adjust button mapping, thumbstick sensitivity, trigger range and vibration intensity.
Charging and accessories
The controller comes with a charging dock and an internal rechargeable battery rated for up to 18 hours of use on a full charge. An accessory pack and a travel case are also included.
Game Outlet Europe, based in Karlstad, Sweden, distributes video games and gaming accessories in more than 40 countries. 8BitDo is known for controllers with a retro design focus, but the Ultimate 3E marks a broader push into premium Xbox accessories through its modular design and cross-platform support.
